Technical and economic feasibility study of an urban vehicle:

Project requirements, needs requirements, valuation survey, design and validation of components, transportation and logistic flow management. (Excel, Catia, Adams, Solidworks)

Duration: 6 months

The aim of this project was to study the economic feasibility of an urban vehicle. Thus all the aspects have been considered: Market penetration, state of the art, industrial feasibility, economical feasibility, management, risks.

During this study we used tools to analyse and determine what the best compromise was in term of price/performance. This study also takes into account the logistics (where to build the factory regarding suppliers and auto dealers), accountancy and return on investment.

Finally we sized all the components regarding the technology previously chosen (rotor, brake calliper, steering, spring, shock, ...).

Then a 3D model of the whole vehicle has been designed on CATIA v5

The final report of this 4months project exceeds 600 pages.

Design of the Control Strategies of the Toyota Prius and its electric

motors to minimize the fuel consumption :

Modelisation and simulation of the entire system  (Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow)

Duration: 4 months

This project started completely from scratch. We first collected all the technical features of the Toyota Prius in specialised publications and articles.

Then, every single component of the power chain has been modelised on Simulink ( electrical motors, power split, engine map, driver,...).

We then developed a control strategy using Stateflow so as to minimize the fuel consumption.

Finally we run simulations with UDDS and HWFET driving cycles so as to obtain the fuel economy.

Design & modeling of a vehicle with a Hybrid-Serie architecture

within the framework of the contest “Styling & Technical

Competition” of the SIA   (French Automotive Engineers Society)

Duration: 3 months

The theme of this contest was "Dreaming without polluting" ("Rêver sans polluer").  For this project, we interpreted "Dreaming" as pleasure to drive, and also as the general fascination about cars. Thus the idea was to build a fascinating vehicle also capable of promoting ecology.

Thus we choose an architecture hybrid-serie with a flat four engine as a generator, two synchronous brushless electrical motors to power rear wheels, a photovoltaic panel on the roof to power the air conditioning and electrical accessories.

The technical features of the power chain were calculated, and then a 3D model of the whole vehicle has been designed on CATIA v5. We also rendered the vehicle on Cinema 4D so as to get better quality screenshots .
